JOB SUMMARY:

Quality Control Lead is responsible for leading QC technicians as well as managing quality of work processes and products across multiple filling lines/technologies. The Quality Control Lead is responsible for ensuring that all product that is sent to customers are meeting quality standards by enforcing compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and Quality Directives (QDs).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1.Determine goals and expectations with QC technicians (including corrective action and reviews).

2.Prepare all documents required for production (includes batch records, Quality checks, QDs, and establishing requirements for fill weight, lot codes, pack-out, etc.

3.Verify staged components against establish QC master for release of production lines.

4.Complete verifications of line clearance and sufficient cleaning and sanitization prior to line setup.

5.Review QDs and Production Notes with line leads and review units produced for setup as compared to master retains to authorize line for full production.

6.Complete QC checks (torque, fill weight, lot code verification) once every 30-45 minutes and fill out documentation; coordinate with production personnel if there are any out of specification results.

7.Support creations and updates to QDs as required.

8.Lead shift crossover meetings with QC and report out on number and percent reworks.

9.Partner with production personnel to develop CAPAs to reduce number of reworks on the floor.

10.Enforce compliance with GMPs, SOPs, WIs, and QDs across the floor (quality and production).

11.Work with account managers to ensure preparedness for pilots, first production, customer visits, and customer requests to update standards.

12.Manage priority and ensure completion of AQL (Acceptance Quality Limit) testing on customer components and finished goods as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of cGMPs / cosmetic manufacturing regulations
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate collaboratively cross functionally (between QC, Production, Account Management, Research & Development, Manufacturing).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Proficient in math (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, converting between units of measurement)
  • Understands the importance of adhering to process

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have experience of directly leading/supervising teams.
  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred (cosmetics, food, bottling, etc)
  • Previous experience working in a GMP environment is preferred
  • Experience working in organic regulated fields is not required but preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must have the ability to be physically present on the production floor at least 80% of the time
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly required to stand
  • Frequently required to walk
  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Regularly reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally/frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to work in areas where chemical materials are encountered
  • Regularly required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels
  • Must customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety

If performed in Colorado, the base salary for this position is $25.00 per hour. This pay rate may vary based on relevant factors including but not limited to experience, education, performance, scope of responsibilities, location and other considerations permitted by law.
