Job Summary
Receives incoming freight, count and verifies that freight received is correct, enters receiving information into computer system on a daily basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unloads incoming freight from trucks.
- Counts all incoming freight and verifies that quantities on bills of lading and/or packing slips and freight bills match's quantities received.
- Signs for incoming freight indicating quantities and condition received are acceptable.
- Notes any discrepancies and/or damage and indicates on freight bills prior to signing for freight.
- Enters all freight received on a timely basis into the computer system to insure accuracy of inventory.
- Prepares all freight claim documents for damage and/or shortages.
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct threat to the individual or others.
- Assists in cycle counting of inventory as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned and/or needed.

Knowledge & Skills
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Count quickly and accurately and enter receipts into inventory/receiving computer system on a timely basis.
- Write legibly.
- Communicate verbally and/or in writing discrepancies in receiving information for freight claims.
- Operate ten-key.
- Software for shipping and receiving.
- Able to lift minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Work with minimum supervision.
- Perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately and safely.
- Communicate by telephone and/or in person.
Machines Operated:
Office machines including, but not limited to:
- Ten-key
- Copy machine
- Computer terminal
- Fax machine
- Phone system
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 or more years of warehouse experience
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand
- Occasionally/frequently required to walk
- Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel
- Regularly reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally/frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment:
- Regularly required to work in areas where chemical materials are encountered
- Regularly required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels
- Must customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety
