JOB TITLE: Cafe Barista
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Hourly
General Description:
Responsible for performing a variety of duties as detailed in the job flow or directed by the supervisor to include the opening/closing of the Café, cashiering, taking and filling orders, providing table service, performing routine housekeeping and sanitation tasks. Performs duties in compliance with established company policies and procedures, and performs in a professional manner.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Ability to perform routine tasks and assignments.
2. Follows all company policies and procedures.
3. Assists in food production and service when directed.
4. Demonstrates outstanding customer service skills using CARES/FOSS as a reference.
5. Operates and cleans food service equipment.
6. Restocks shelves, counters, and storage areas with retail items and paper goods.
7. Trash and garbage removal.
8. Performs sanitation duties: sweep, vacuum, mop in front/back of house.
9. Attends scheduled meetings and in-services.
10. Adheres to uniform policy (wears hair restraint, name tag, shirt, pants) as issued.
11. Follows and adheres to safety requirements to include HACCP and PPE.
12. Performs all other duties as required.

Work Area and Working Conditions:
- Well lighted, well ventilated kitchen, dining rooms, and dish room.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Frequently exposed to wet and humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, fluctuating temperatures.
Qualifications:
1. Ability to read and to recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
2. Positive customer service skill abilities
3. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers.
4. Prior cash handling, café or wait-staff experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be of good physical and mental health.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to frequently sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, stand, walk use hands, talk, pull, push, feel, and smell.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to regularly lift and move 10 lbs. and up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Key Accountabilities (with or without reasonable accommodation):
1. Accurately prepares Food and Drinks according to procedures and request.
2. Serves all guests with correct food, greets all guests in a timely, polite, and responsive manner.
3. Sanitation – practices proper food handling (HACCP, Sanitation), serving, cleaning, sanitizing of kitchen, dining areas, and storage. Maintains temp and production records for all areas of responsibility.
4. Employee can accurately describe all products and suggests additional items or specials to complete customer order, as well as answer all questions about products, serving size, or ingredients.
5. Employee interacts with all customers with professional image and positive attitude in order to have an exceptional dining experience.
6. Clean shelves, counters, arrange displays, stocks merchandise and supplies.
