Tax Preparer (Full-Time) - Now Hiring!

The Tax Preparer will be assisting clients with their tax returns by gathering information, calculating taxes and verifying that the returns are accurate. All tax returns are prepared utilizing the information provided by the clients and are keyed into tax software.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Informing clients or employers on the tax preparation process
• Prepare tax returns, payments, and reports for individuals and businesses through Schedule C’s, Schedule E’s, Schedule F’s, sale of stock, and other individual tax forms
• Prepare business tax returns for Corporations, Partnerships and other entities.
• Provide Tax Planning for Clients.
• Collecting relevant financial records, including pay stubs and income statements
• Inputting data from financial records into tax return software or databases
• Using applicable federal, state and local tax law to determine deductions and how much each client will pay or earn on the return
• Completing and filing tax documents with appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state and local government entities
• Acting as a representative for clients with applicable agencies as required
• Building customer relationships to promote and expand the business
• Gain cross training and proficiency in other duties to assist staff with clients
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• High school diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
• Experience with Drake tax software is a plus
• Requires 5 years of job-related experience

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Drake Tax: 1 year (Preferred)
• Tax: 5 years (Required)
