Medical Biller
Elite Business Resources is looking for experienced Medical Billers skilled in commercial insurances, Medicaid and Medicare. Medical Billers ensure claims are coded correctly and submitted to payers and insurance providers in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
1. **Billing and Coding: **
- Review and analyze patient records to ensure accurate assignment of codes.
- Enter and validate patient demographic and insurance information.
- Assign appropriate medical codes for services provided.
2. **Claim Submission: **
- Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies.
- Monitor and track claim status to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Address any claim rejections or denials and take necessary actions for resubmission.
3. **Payment Posting: **
- Record and reconcile payments received from insurance companies and patients.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in payments or billing issues.
4. **Patient Communication: **
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing issues, explanations of benefits, and payment plans.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality.
5. **Documentation and Reporting: **
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of billing transactions.
- Generate reports on billing activities, outstanding claims, and collections.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a medical billing clerk or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 coding.
- Familiarity with insurance regulations and reimbursement processes.
- Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health records.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
**Typing test and pre-employment assessments required.
