This position supports providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care, clinic maintenance, and communication with other medical offices. This job may also include cross training as a Medical Receptionist on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of the employer’s business needs.
What you'll do:
- Assist with prescription refills, EHR alerts, and other time sensitive delegated tasks.
- Responding to emails, phone calls, and voicemails.
- Adhere to infection control standards, OSHA standards, and aseptic techniques.
- Ensure supplies, exam rooms, and treatment rooms are properly sanitized and stocked.
- Gather and document accurate clinical data systematically and efficiently in a timely fashion.
- Maintain HIPPA at all times.
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures, including skin tag removal, excisions, chemical peels, and biopsies.
- Assist providers during exams and procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings and provide constructive criticism with the mindset of providing solutions for improvement.
- Data entry, filing, and faxing or emailing documents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule: M-F: 830-530
Education:High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Certifications/Licensure:Certified Medical Assistant or have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a medical assistant.Completion of HIPPA and OSHA requirements upon hire. BLS preferred.
Experience:Experience with EHR systems -not required but is a plus.2 years’ experience as a medical assistant/receptionist
Skills: Service oriented. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and Excel. Ability to adhere to a compliance program and HIPAA standards and policies. Able to receive and apply constructive input for performance improvement and growth. Bilingual preferred. Phlebotomy is a plus.
