Sexual Assault Crisis/Case manager
The Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center is seeking applicants for a full-time sexual assault case manager position (35 hours/week).
The sexual assault case manager will provide a trauma informed immediate response, crisis intervention, confidential emotional support, information advocacy to victims of sexual assault, child molestation and their families. assessing immediate needs, safety planning and linking victims to other supportive services. The SA case manager is part of a coordinated response team and facilitates medical and legal supports and services while providing trauma informed victim-centered care.
Key responsibilities:
· Provide comprehensive crisis intervention and case management to victims of sexual assault and child molestation and their non-offending family members
· Provide culturally competent, trauma informed services to victims/survivors
· Coordinates services through multiple providers and support systems
· Serve as a liaison between victims/families and systems they may have to navigate because of a crime (e.g., medical, criminal justice and social support systems
· Explains legal and medical options that are available to victims/families
· Accompany and advocate for victims through medical, criminal justice and social support systems, including medical facilities, police and court proceedings with victim’s request and consent
· Provide assessment and service plan for victims
· Connect victims to other programing supports and social /community agencies if relative to client short, and long-term stabilization goals.
· Provide culturally competent, trauma informed services to victims/survivors of sexual assault and child molestation.
· Provide individualized safety planning for victims
· Provide a Non-judgmental empathetic approach to assisting victims of sexual assault
· Assistance with basic needs and providing victims with knowledge of their rights
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position has a minimum of one year experience working with victims of interpersonal violence, to include sexual assault, domestic violence, and sex trafficking. Knowledge of a trauma informed, client centered and empowerment model approach to serving victims affected by interpersonal violence and sexual violence. Well-versed in best practices of victims of sexual assault. An understanding of issues related to sexual assault, sexual abuse, and domestic violence.
