JOB DECRIPTION
Housekeeping
I. Job Summary:
Assumes responsibility for the cleanliness, sanitization, maintenance and appearance of Ramsey Woods Residence, as it applies to the personal and common living areas, including furniture, surfaces and equipment.
II. Job Relationships:
A. Directly responsible to the Resident Coordinator, Administrator and Assistant Administrator.

III. Basic Duties
A. Follow a schedule for cleaning assigned resident’s rooms.
1. Dusting of furniture, nick knacks, wall hangings, corners, ceiling lights, smoke detectors and sprinkler heads.
2. Cleaning of wood furniture with Murphy’s Oil Soap (or equivalent), including woodwork such as doors, windows, baseboards and trim.
3. Vacuuming chairs.
4. Disinfecting vinyl furniture with Lysol liquid.
5. Cleaning tiled and carpeted floors, including behind furniture, using dry mop, wet mop and vacuum as needed.
6. Keeping closet shelves and floors clean.
7. Cleaning of TV screens and other glass fixtures such as pictures, lamps and mirrors with windex.
8. Disinfecting telephones and remote controls with Lysol liquid.
9. Cleaning windows, inside and out.
10. Vacuuming of window dressings.
11. Disinfecting bathroom fixtures with appropriate solutions, including toilets, sinks, hand rails, walls and floors.
12. Keep bathroom light fixtures, smoke detectors, sprinkler heads and vents dust free.
13. Clean mirror.
14. Keep bathrooms stocked with toilet paper, disposable gloves, soap (bar and/or liquid) and garbage bags.
15. Empty and reline garbage cans.
B. Daily cleaning of assigned common bathrooms.
1. Disinfecting of toilets, sinks, hand rails, walls floors, and other commonly used fixtures such as toilet paper dispensers, hand towel dispensers and door knobs.
2. Keep bathroom light fixtures, smoke detectors, sprinkler heads and vents dust free.
3. Clean mirrors.
4. Keep bathrooms stocked with toilet paper, disposable gloves, liquid soap, hand towels and garbage bags.
5. Empty and reline garbage cans.
C. Follow a schedule for cleaning assigned common living areas.
1. Keep dust free; wall corners, light fixtures, smoke detectors, sprinkler heads, wall hangings, curio cabinets and furniture.
2. Use Murphy’s oil soap on furniture and wood surfaces such as hand rails, doors, windows, baseboards and trim.
3. Vacuum chairs.
4. Disinfect vinyl furniture with Lysol liquid.
5. Keep TV screens clean.
6. Clean tiled and carpeted floors, including behind furniture, using dry mop and vacuum, as needed.
7. Vacuum window dressings.
8. Clean windows.
9. Empty garbage bags.
D. Attend to cleaning projects on an as needed basis.
1. Clean up spills on flooring, carpet and furniture in an appropriate manner.
2. Disinfect entire resident’s room at time of discharge, prior to new resident’s admission.
E. Generalities:
1. Work in harmony with supervisor to maintain a clean, safe and aesthetic environment.
2. Shares his/her thoughts with supervisor on ways to make improvements.
3. Advises supervisor of any change in cleaning schedule.
4. Informa supervisor of any supplies that may be needed.
5. Informs supervisor of any maintenance problems that may exist, ie; damaged, inoperative or missing furniture, fixtures or equipment.
6. Assumes responsibility for proper handling, storage and maintenance of furniture, fixtures and equipment.
7. Responsible for changing vacuum bags.
8. Assumes responsibility for maintaining odor control through the use of disinfecting/deodorizing cleaners, air sprays and the ozone generator.

Hours: 9:00am-2:00pm Week days (4 days per week)
9:00am-3:00pm Weekend (every other weekend

Rate of pay is based on experience
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
