Responsibilities
Purpose of Your Position
The primary purpose of this job position is to plan, implement and evaluate nursing service for students attending the Elizabeth Seton Children’s School. This individual will work collaboratively with the transdisciplinary team, families and community agencies to create a continuum of health care for each student. This position is Per Diem- hours/schedule based on the needs of the school.

- Perform nursing assessments and provide treatments and nursing care as required
- Maintain accurate record keeping and IEP/IFSP goal tracking documentation as required by SED/EI and Elizabeth Seton Children’s School policies for quality assurance and accountability purposes
- Respond to and participate in resolving emergency medical situations
- Attend daily clinical status meeting as required
- Attend school trips as required
- Complete daily rounds of each classroom and record and report information as needed
- Administer medication as ordered
- Evaluate and maintain emergency equipment
- Participate in care planning conferences as needed
- Prepare and conduct staff development on topics related to nursing care
Perform other tasks to support the operations of the school as assigned by School Administration

Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- New York State Registered Professional Nurse License; Pediatric Nurse Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is preferred
Experience
Experience:
- One year of nursing experience
- Two years experience working with children; plus experience working with multiple handicapped and/or medically involved children
