JOverview: Under the direction of the Executive Director, this position will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of fundraising, communications, and outreach efforts to meet the financial goals of the Elizabethtown Child Care Center (ECCC), including maintaining and partnering with donors, handling gift acknowledgment, and managing the donor database. In addition, the Development & Communications Coordinator will be responsible for various communication-related tasks and plans.

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Development Plan creation and implementation including annual appeal, major gifts, individual appeals, corporate gifts, foundation grant-seeking, and fundraising events.
  • Collaborate with ECCC Executive Director to develop, expand, and refine case for support, supporting materials, and strategy.
  • Cultivate, manage, steward, and track relationships with donors and prospects.
  • Maintain accurate donor records within ECCC’s donor CRM, create reports from the CRM to monitor progress toward fundraising goals.
  • Gather stories/testimonials from families and other stakeholders to share ECCC’s impact in multi-channel communications, including website, social media, and one-to-one storytelling.
  • Work closely with ECCC Executive Director to maintain relationships with high-potential donors and prospective donors.
  • Assist with promoting ECCC in the local community to create new and nurture existing relationships with residents, organizations, and businesses.
  • Assist in the planning and coordinating of event logistics including relationships with vendors, speakers, guests, volunteers, and sponsors; oversee and coordinate event-planning committees.
  • Accurately prepare and organize all donor records, correspondence, proposals, reports, mailings, and acknowledgments required to support ongoing fundraising activities.
  • Support ECCC’s Board in its fundraising efforts, including educating, coordinating, and engaging Board members.
  • Monitor communications metrics, including web page visits and social media engagement.
  • Assist in the maintenance of ECCC’s website and social media pages.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

● High School Diploma/GED is required.

● At least 2 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, sales, or related experience.

● Proficient computer and software knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.), including CRMs.

● Must be able to lift at least 30lbs.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

● Prior experience in Early Childhood Education or in a childcare setting.

● Proven experience developing and cultivating individual and corporate relationships.

● Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

● Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate diplomatically and effectively with volunteers, donors, and staff.

● Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines, and clearly communicate critical details with all stakeholders.

● Proactive mindset and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

● Excellent verbal and writing skills with demonstrated success in proposal writing.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
