PART TIME ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST
DEPARTMENT: Health Department
HIRING RANGE: Up to $33.19/hour and based on education and position related experience
BENEFITS OFFERED: No benefits offered
POSITION TO BE FILLED: ASAP
HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: Varies including evenings & weekends up to 29 hours/week
LOCATION OF POSITION: Public Services Building - Dunlap

Job Summary
Responsible for educating and protecting the public by supporting disease prevention/solutions to environmental problems; providing awareness of activities/behaviors that adversely affect the environment and public health by performing plan reviews, conducting inspections, enforcing federal, state, and local public health & environmental protection laws, rules, and regulations.
Job Requirements
BS/BA Degree in environmental health, biology, chemistry, public health, or related physical science
Must be at least 21 years of age
Excellent organizational, communication skills and a sound knowledge of office procedures and practices
Ability to competently serve the public with diplomacy and respect, including occasional encounters with irate/hostile individuals
Valid drivers' license and reliable transportation
