Position Overview:
We are seeking a board-certified Veterinary Clinical Pathologist to join our growing team at Ellie Diagnostics. The position requires competency in all major areas of the discipline including hematology, biochemistry, and review of cytological samples.
Responsibilities:
- Perform microscopic examination and interpretation of veterinary cytology and histopathology samples
- Conduct hematology, clinical chemistry, and coagulation testing on various animal species
- Provide expert consultation to veterinarians regarding test selection, interpretation of results, and diagnosis
- Collaborate with other members of the veterinary team to ensure efficient workflow and quality control
- Stay up-to-date with current advances and developments in veterinary clinical pathology
- Participate in continuing education programs and present findings at conferences or seminars
- Contribute to research and development activities in the field of veterinary clinical pathology
Requirements:
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Board certification or eligibility in veterinary clinical pathology (ACVP or ECVP)
- Proven experience in veterinary clinical pathology, including expertise in cytology, hematology, and clinical chemistry
- Strong diagnostic skills and ability to interpret complex laboratory results
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with other team members and clients
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to providing accurate and reliable diagnostic services
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
- Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and quality control procedures
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and proficiency in computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a diagnostic laboratory or veterinary hospital setting
- Track record of research publications in veterinary clinical pathology
- Experience with molecular diagnostics and emerging technologies in veterinary pathology
