What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Elliott Company?
Overview & Responsibilities Support the Elliott Quality Management System by performing various quality control inspection functions. This will be accomplished by working within both the Bearing Manufacturing Center and the Service and Repair Center. Ability to read and interpret the following: work orders, assembly and manufacturing drawings, special instructions, process specifications, standard operating procedures, material specifications, etc. Use a variety of measuring devices and techniques to inspect material/products for conformance to drawing tolerances, quality standards, and for completeness Perform incoming, in-process, and final NDT inspections of both service and bearings products, as needed Initiate scrap and rework reports, nonconformance reports, and quality action reports, as needed Calibrate and maintain the records of all measuring equipment for both centers and personally owned tooling Identify and approve incoming material which has been inspected per drawings and/or material specifications Receive and adhere to job priorities as provided from management Identify, document, and raise awareness regarding any and all nonconformance’s Follow all safety rules and keep workstations in an organized operating condition Write clear and concise inspection reports Review material test reports from suppliers as required for compliance to the Elliott specifications. Complete final inspections prior to shipment/storage Inspect and approve welder continuity logs REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 2 years of industrial or manufacturing inspection experience Certified to ASNT Level 2 in PT and MT Highly qualified candidates will have their ASNT Level 2 certification in VT Experience in the use of various measuring tools and NDT equipment Familiarity with measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc. Familiarity with various non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment such as magnetic particle machines, thickness indicators, black light equipment Must be able to read and interpret work scopes, mechanical drawings, special instructions, procedures, specifications, etc. Willingness to work overtime and off shifts as needed to support current plant operations High school education or equivalent, advanced, specialized technical training Familiarity with Microsoft programs Equal Employment Opportunity Elliott is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by the federal, state or local laws of the United States.
