We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our Finance Team at Ellis Park Racing & Gaming, located in Henderson, KY. As Purchasing Manager, your primary responsibility will be overseeing product and service purchasing and managing supplier relationships while acting as the main point of contact for business stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of products and negotiating with suppliers for favorable price, quality, delivery, and payment terms. The role requires a combination of strong business acumen and leadership skills within an industrial manufacturing business environment, along with the ability to foster long-term internal and external partnership relationships for the success of the company.

Some details of what you will do:

• Leverage SAP Ariba to streamline your procurement process; including creating purchase requisitions, obtaining approvals, generating purchase orders, receiving goods, and processing invoices.
• Maintain compliance by ensuring corporate purchasing policies and procedures are being followed.
• Lead Purchasing team members through coaching, training, and performance management.
• Recommend ways to enhance the efficiency of internal processes to Sr. Director of Finance while monitoring system functions.
• Responsible for creating monthly reports on open purchase orders while ensuring compliance with company policy.
• Responsible for reviewing and approving requisitions, ensuring the best price is obtained before forwarding for final approval.
• Negotiate with vendors to procure the best price and quickest service for goods and services for local needs.
• Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority for local needs.
• Partner with the Corporate Purchasing team on enterprise-wide projects, recurring compliance concerns with regulations and standards regarding all Corporate policies and procedures.
• Assist in resolving issues with purchases or services; discuss defective or unacceptable goods/services with users, vendors, or inspection/quality control personnel to determine the source of trouble/problem and appropriate corrective action.
• Assist the Corporate Purchasing team as necessary with new vendor requests.

What you need:

• Experience with SAP Ariba/Concur, JD Edwards, and Excel.
• Demonstrated success in leading and developing a small team.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing supplier scorecards.
• Thorough understanding of ERP and MRP systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• 7-10 years experience in purchasing, receiving, and inventory control.
• A bachelor's degree in a related or relevant area is preferred.
