The Cloud Engineering practice consists of experts in Cloud modernization and
transformation. This includes the "Lift and Shift" of your Apps, re-factoring,
re-purchasing, Hybrid Apps, and retiring and replacing applications and systems.
Data Center
The Data Center practice has experts for On Premise solutions that run your
organization. These encompass solutions that require the utmost security,
confidentiality and strategic cost savings.
Software
The Software practice provides design and engineering of Software Applications,
Automation and Software Infrastructure technologies for Cloud and On Premise.
Cyber
The Cyber Engineering practice develops a layered approach to IT security and
deploys Cyber Automation capabilities.
Job Description
The primary technical areas are related to security and monitoring. Additional roles are related to working with the Operations Manager on overall Operations Management as well as staff administration
Duties and Responsibilities:
Security aspects, including
● Oversee Splunk Logging Effort
● Priority Security Vulnerability issues, such as TLS
● Represent VGE on security meetings, such as CVMG and CyperOps Ongoing
review of Operational Posture
● iPost monitoring
● Remediation when can, delegation to sub-teams when needed
● Point Person on special/critical efforts, such as LOG4J
Monitoring
● Coordinate with ESOC on monitoring issues
● Work with monitoring teams, such as SCCM, for GITM monitoring/alerting posture
● Liaison with special efforts, such as cmLite and related tools, CyberArk
Staff Management
● Although not a direct manager, coordinate with Operations Manager on various staff organizational/management roles
● Secondary on Operations Manager meetings (such as Operational reviews)
● Coordinate with Operations Manager on Event Handling, especially for longer duration events and crisis
● Coordinate onboarding activities for new staff
● Backup role for Customers and Escalations when Operations Manager is out of office
Desired Qualifications
● VMWare and vSphere design, integration and deployment.
● Knowledge or Training on VMware and ESX 6.5 deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
● Experience with security analysis and remediations
● Experience leading system integration projects as the technical lead.
●Experience working with customers to capture/document requirements.
●Experience in leadership roles within a team environment
● Adaptability to high-paced environment and changing priorities/needs
● Active Directory experience, particularly in a large environment.
● Strong scripting skills.
● LAN/WAN networking experience.
● Splunk or other logging/monitoring platforms
● Ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.
● Military Experience is desired but not required.
Years of Experience and Education Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in an information technology or related field or 10 years of progressive, related experience.
● Knowledge with VMware and ESX 6.5 deployment, configuration, and maintenance
