Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist will run the daily functions of payroll including full cycle payroll, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and work assessments. This may include safety training and certifications.

·Process Payroll, data entry, reconciliation of timesheetss paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments.

·This role will be responsible for performing general Payroll Clerk duties, with some additional Payroll responsibilities

·Reviewing/processing address changes and tax forms; Matching data entries with new hire documents for accuracy; Running new hire/termination reports ; Reviewing timesheets

·Updating payroll records for direct deposit/pay card applications or garnishments, Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

·Running/submitting Social Security verification reports;

·Running other general payroll reports

· Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

· Administer instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

· Manages and maintains employee changes by processing all requests within the HRIS and file system. Creates and compiles various reports from database as requested.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Prior payroll and time labor management experience required.

· Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.

· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

· Must be bilingual English/Spanish

· Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

· Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

· At least two years of payroll experience preferred.
