Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical
  • Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, sanitary and attractive manner
  • Assure that established infetion control and universal precaution practices are followed when performing flooring procedures
  • Keep work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects such as protruding mop/broom handles, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc
  • Perform day-to-day flooring functions as assigned
  • Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc
  • Clean carpets to include vacuuming, shampooing, deororizing and disinfecting
  • Remove dirt, dust, grease, film ect from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions
  • Clean Hallways, stairways and elevators
  • Clean vacant rooms as assigned
  • Perform terminal cleaning procedures, as instructed, when a resident is discharged or transferred to another room
  • Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers
  • Maintain the confidentiality of resident information
  • Honor the residents' personal and property rights
