Risk Manager

The Risk Manager will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks associated with property management operations. This role involves developing and implementing risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and safeguarding the company's assets and reputation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks to the company's properties, operations, and financial stability.
• Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee and manage insurance claims related to property damage, liability, and other risks. Work closely with insurance providers to resolve claims effectively.
• Ensure that all property management activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Stay updated on industry regulations and standards.
• Investigate incidents and accidents on company properties, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and deliver risk management training programs for staff and property managers to enhance awareness and adherence to risk management practices.
• Prepare and present risk management reports to senior management, including risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and incident analysis.
• Evaluate and manage third-party vendors to ensure they adhere to risk management standards and policies.
• Develop and maintain a crisis management plan to address potential emergencies or unforeseen events affecting properties and operations.

SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM)) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the property management or real estate industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
• Knowledge of property management operations and related regulations.
• Relevant risk management certifications are preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Regularly required to talk or hear
• Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls
• Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
• Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary
