Environmental Health & Safety Assistant Job Opening!

As a key member of the Human Resource and Environmental Health and Safety team, this position is responsible for the following:
- Performs routine inspections of facility to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
- Participates in Root Cause Analysis process for accidents/incidents
- Helps maintain company’s ISO 14001 status through auditing internal programs.
- Orders, stocks, and inventories PPE used at the facility.
- Trains employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Responds to facility emergency events and serves as a key member regarding emergency safety and environmental scenarios.
- Continually improve existing safety programs in all aspects.
- Exemplify company policies and enforce those policies throughout the facility.
- Create and maintain inventories of critical safety equipment.
- Assist with critical environmental health and safety documentation retention.
- Work in a team setting to facilitate with other Health, Safety, and Environmental functions
Qualified applicants must meet the following minimum standards:
- Minimum of 2 years hands on experience coordinating and implementing safety and environmental programs in a manufacturing environment or educational equivalent.
- Hold an OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Safety Certificate preferred
- Certified or able to obtain certification for CPR/First Aid
- Demonstrate extensive OSHA knowledge
- Be familiar with applicable environmental topics (CAA, CWA, RCRA)
- Ability to use effective persuasion and communication skills with individuals at all levels and functions within the organization.
- Ability to lead others in achieving high levels of commitment and attainment of continuous improvement in safety, health and environmental affairs.
