POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Business Development drives the development and execution of a marketing plan for assigned operating units within assigned service line’s programs that result in an excess of budgeted admissions and activities that support Elwyn’s strategic plan.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



    Develops, secures approval, and implements a comprehensive and diverse marketing plan for all residential, out-patient, and education programs within Elwyn’s three service lines (Adult IDD, Adult Behavioral Health, and Children Services) to ensure the continuous growth of admissions into and expansion of services provided to each of the service areas
    Utilizes metrics and reporting tools to track and report growth progress of admissions and expansion of services offered within Elwyn of Pennsylvania and Delaware against the marketing and admission plans to ensure objectives of the strategic plan and continuous growth sustainability are met
    Assists the Sr. Director of Business Development and Admissions in strategic planning with service line’s multi-disciplinary leadership team to enhance services, service offerings, and reputation to be the provider of choice within Elwyn’s of Pennsylvania and Delaware service lines
    Identifies trends, both positive and negative, that impact marketing and admissions and shares this feedback along with recommended solutions to the leaders within impacted programs to ensure continuous growth of service offerings and sustainability in all program areas
    In consultations with Advancement’s Marketing Communication team, serves as a steward and key promoter of the organizationally approved Elwyn brand to ensure consistency in message delivery of print and web collateral
    Develops and maintains solid working and fruitful relationships with community members, agencies, and others who can support the strategic objections and marketing and admission plan of Elwyn through activities including but not limited to face-to-face meetings, committee memberships, and relationship building within higher levels of referring organizations to encourage the use of Elwyn programs as appropriate
    Establishes and maintains membership in community organizations, committees, advocacy groups and regularly attends meetings of each to establish an Elwyn presence in the community
    Develops a referral source database, along with community contacts, to assist with marketing and admissions to the program
    Works with each service line admission's director to ensure they are aligned with the community need and have relationships with referral sources to ensure smooth transition to admission
    Works with outpatient sites by providing support, guidance and relationship building with community organizations to develop referral relationships across the Elwyn and Fellowship Health Resources (FHR) adult behavioral health (BH) division
    Develops and maintains positive relationships and nurtures confidence of funding agencies and with others who provide material support to Elwyn’s mission to instill confidence and to ensure growth and expansion of overall provision of services
    Demonstrates the Corporate Core Values and Mission and culture in daily work
    Monitors changes in competitive practices, rules, regulations, and laws
    Performs other duties as assigned


    IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Sr. Director, Business Development and Admissions



    DIRECT REPORTS: None



    CONTACTS: Customers and their families and advocates; Elwyn staff; Board of Directors; physicians and other healthcare providers; industry association members and representatives; community members, leaders, and business executives; community provider representatives; vendors; consultants; legislators; bargaining unit leaders and business agents; attorneys; and contacts/representatives at governmental agencies, payers, and funding agencies



    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:



      Bachelors in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related fields; in lieu of undergraduate degree, equivalent years of directly related experience may be considered in addition to required experience below
      Three (3) years’ experience with development of comprehensive marketing and admission plans for multiple programs concurrently where goals were met or exceeded
      Experience within the Pennsylvania behavioral health and intellectual disability industry required
      Demonstrated applied clinical service program operation and service delivery knowledge to those with behavioral health and intellectual disabilities
      Experience in not-for-profit business
      Affiliations with service and industry associations
      Demonstrated exceptional skills in customer interaction, collaboration, verbal communication, and developing and facilitating presentations; demonstrated strong written communication skills
      Known for setting and achieving aggressive goals
      Skill for tracking and reporting goals and results
      Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
      Ability to develop solutions managing multiple constituencies and points of view
      Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
      Demonstrated strong attention to detail
      Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
      Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
      Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
      Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Publisher and report-writer experience preferred
      Must have current, valid driver’s license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record
