POSITION SUMMARY: Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations, including diagnostic assessments such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), refer to the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual) to determine mental health diagnoses, provide psychoeducation to the client and families regarding diagnosis, and make appropriate behavioral and educational recommendations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



    Review all prior documentation including but not limited to evaluation reports (ER), individualized education plans (IEPs), prior diagnostic evaluations, etc., provided by referral source and contact the child's family, school, and medical provider to complete a comprehensive clinical interview and symptom history, to confirm an autism diagnosis, and make treatment recommendations for services
    Complete Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2) assessment in person with the child, utilizing appropriate Module and standardized administration procedures as per ADOS manual; score the ADOS-2 and any other assessment tools utilized according to standardized scoring rules/procedure to confirm the autism diagnosis
    Administer any additional assessment tools/measures desired, including but not limited t Conner's Rating Scale, Child PTSD Symptom Scale for DSM-5, Vanderbilt Assessment Scales, Disruptive Behavior Disorder Rating Scale, GAD-7, etc. to further clarify the diagnostic picture and to determine treatment recommendations
    Produce a comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluation containing all of the above information, e.g., clinical interviews, historical information, ADOS-2 and other assessments, observations, etc., to review with the family and discuss recommendations for treatment
    When possible, provide the family with next-steps information (possibly including Written Order or other documentation to pursue recommended services) around diagnosis and recommendations that have been made to ensure family receives psychoeducation around diagnosis and child is referred to other mental health services to address areas of concern for comprehensive treatment
    Consult/educate the program team (e.g., Early Learning Services (ELS), Children's Behavioral Health, Davidson) regarding evaluation findings and recommendations for other professionals/agencies (e.g., Center for Autism, SPIN, a Life of Possibilities, etc.) who can work with the child, as needed, as part of a comprehensive treatment plan to ensure continuity of care and clinical best practice
    Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and safety care intervention using agency-trained protocols
    Perform other duties as assigned

    IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Senior Director, Children's Behavioral Health

    CONTACTS: Client/child, their families, Elwyn staff, other providers as necessary


    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:



      Child Clinical Psychologist licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
      Training/experience in administration of ADOS-2 Modules 1-4
      Demonstrated strong ability to complete comprehensive clinical interview, with focus on obtaining necessary information to make/rule-out a behavioral health diagnosis, as well as to provide any additional indicated diagnoses
      Basic knowledge of services/supports available through Early Learning Services, Children's Behavioral Health/Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS), and other service lines as relates to this population, for purposes of making effective recommendations
      Ability to produce a clear, well-written final product evaluation report in a timely manner
      Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills, including ability to maintain own scheduling with families
      Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
      Must possess excellent client interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
      Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
      Demonstrated strong attention to detail
      Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
      Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
      Must be able to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and safety care intervention using agency-trained protocols
      Demonstrated basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
      Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred
      Must have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record
