What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Veterinarian position at Emancipet?
Emancipet is seeking full time Veterinarians.
More than a career, its a movement. Emancipet is a rapidly growing non-profit veterinary care organization with a mission to make veterinary care affordable and accessible for EVERYONE. Inaccessibility of veterinary care has deep and tangled roots in other complex social problems like poverty, racism, and economic inequality. But were working to change that. Our clinics have the power to transform communities into places where no one ever has to forego veterinary care for their pets because the cost is out of reach.
For over 20 years weve been building up a national network of low-cost veterinary clinics, strategically located in underserved communities. And the coolest part? Our work is now transforming into an access to veterinary care movement thats gaining national traction and creating partnerships between Emancipet and folks like PetSmart Charities.
Lets talk about what makes this role special!
-
Competitive salary? Check! $140,000 - $160,000 dependent on experience
-
Focus on your patients not paperwork. Our secret sauce? Weve got an entire national office full of support teams like finance, HR, marketing, a contact center and more in place so that our Veterinarians and clinic teams can focus on the pets and people in front of them.
-
Supporting your financial wellbeing is a must. Have you heard of Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSFL)? If you are employed by a U.S. federal, state, local, or tribal government or not-for-profit organization (like Emancipet!), you might be eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
-
Prefer a later start and a flexible schedule? Our Preventative Care services run from 10am-6pm and our High-Quality High-Volume Spay & Neuter (HQHVSN) modules run, on average, from 9am-4pm (variable based on surgeon speed). Our full-time doctors work 4 days a week, rotating Monday through Saturday with no Sunday shifts.
-
Dont like surgery? No problem! We can make a schedule without surgery shifts. If you like surgery but have never done HQHVSN surgery, no problem! You will receive extensive on the job training - HQHVSN surgical techniques are skills that youll carry with you for the rest of your career!
-
Want to earn a little extra? If you are open to being on-call after hours, we do provide an on-call stipend with shifts running on a weekly basis.
-
Non-competes arent for us. We never want to see awesome team members leave, but we respect every veterinarian's choice to make the best decisions necessary for themselves and their families.
-
Belonging, diversity and inclusion isnt a tagline. We embrace and appreciate a wide range of people and perspectives, to create a space where staff can achieve their full potential, and create transformative experiences for the pets, people and communities we serve.
