Assistant General Manager, Cannabis Retail Dispensary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Assistant General Manager will report directly to our General Manger, working closely with them to ensure customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals and manage staff effectively. This role will also oversee the retail location, its staff and activities to achieve a profitable store location. The role will be responsible for embodying and maintaining Embarc’s core values with customers and staff and ensure ongoing compliance with local and state regulations.
- Oversees staff and fulfills staffing needs for regular hours, as well as special events or high-traffic times.
- Maintains and motivates a positive sales team through communication, incentives, and evaluations.
- Confirms daily sales reports and cash receipts; ensures monies are deposited regularly, and reports are submitted as prescribed by company policies.
- Addresses customer needs and resolves issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships.
- Collaborates with executive leadership to develop, coordinate, and identify cost-effective advertising and hiring strategies.
- Partners with in-store security to ensure safety of all people and products.
- Ensures that the store always looks clean and inviting.
- Places and rotates merchandise to attract positive attention from customers.
- Hires and trains retail staff, overseeing product and systems education
- Mentors Embarc Leads and Guides to develop them into their full potential
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Assists with discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly manages all front of house retail store staff including but not limited to budtenders, receptionists and leads.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job operates in an office business environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items that weigh more than 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of four years of experience in retail management
- Extensive and proven management experience preferred
- Extensive cannabis knowledge is preferred
- Understanding of cannabis compliance laws in California
JOB TYPE: FULL TIME
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position in a Retail store that is open 365 days a year. Evening, weekend, and Holiday work will be required as schedule demands.
