Job Overview
Our ideal candidate possesses a high-level of attention to detail and is dedicated to ensuring our guests have an exceptional experience during their stay. As a Maintenance Technician, you will repair and maintain the physical structure of the hotel and guest rooms using hand tools, power tools and specialized equipment. In this position, you report directly to the Chief Engineer and will assist with any maintenance issues on the property. Routine preventive maintenance comprises a significant percentage of the duties of a hotel maintenance engineer. Responsibilities range from troubleshooting and repairing HVAC and electrical systems, repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen and laundry equipment, regular boiler maintenance, drywall, painting and vinyl wallcovering repair to diagnosing and repairing telephone, internet and satellite TV networks. Hotel maintenance staff are also typically responsible for scheduling regular inspections of electrical equipment and/or elevators as required by state and local law, as well as working with vendors to replace old and install new equipment of all kinds.
Requirements
Knowledge of maintenance trades, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.
Mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment and related tools.
Basic English language communication, math skills, and computer literacy.
Able to move heavy equipment and work at heights up to 30 feet.
You should be proficient in general applications including repairs, preventative maintenance, HVAC repairs, flooring and wallcoverings.
Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Prior experience in hospitality
Some Key Areas of Responsibilities include:
Check equipment operation in all areas including lighting.
Perform all maintenance requests as instructed by Supervisor.
Report problems requiring further action with possible solutions.
Complete Maintenance Requests in a timely manner.
Make a complete building round at the end of your shift.
Punctual.
Effective with time management skills.
Team player.
Applicants must be able to work weekends & holidays.
