Essential Functions: Opens mail, batches for scanning, and indexes into claims system Handles routine outgoing mail, such as various forms, releases and templates prepared by adjusters to be sent overnight and/or certified Separates and indexes legal documents following established procedures and escalates to supervisor Monitors and reviews incoming claims faxes and emails; renames and categorizes emails and seeks guidance from supervisor regarding handling of unidentifiable correspondence Answers phone calls from vendors, insureds, agents, claimants and providers Calls providers and vendors to request medical records, accident and theft reports as requested by claims adjuster Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalency Experience with mail and filing preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of insurance and claims terminology preferred Good computer skills Accurate data entry skills Ability to file alpha and numeric information Excellent communication and human relations skills Strong organizational and excellent customer service skills Our employment practices are in accord with the laws which prohibit discrimination due to race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, religion, age, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, veteran status, active military status, citizenship status, marital status or any other consideration made unlawful by federal, state, or local laws.
