Position Overview:

Leads and maintains the enterprise continuity program lifecycle ensuring the business impact analysis (BIA) reflects and supports corporate priorities and leveraging identified risks in developing resilient recovery strategies. Identifies gaps and open issues discovered during continuity plan exercises, BIA, and Continuity Plan reviews and develops appropriate responses. Serves as the system administrator and primary point of contact for the Business Continuity and ERM Governance Risk and Compliance (BC-GRC) software tool built on the Fusion Framework system. Ensures business process and continuity plan assignments are aligned with organizational changes.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads and maintains the enterprise continuity program lifecycle ensuring the business impact analysis (BIA) reflects and supports corporate priorities and leveraging identified risks in developing resilient recovery strategies
  • Collaborates with departments as they actively manage their BIAs, business continuity/crisis management plans
  • Leads and provides guidance to departments on developing exercises testing continuity plan recovery effectiveness
  • Identifies gaps and open issues discovered during continuity plan exercises, BIA, and Continuity Plan reviews and develops appropriate responses
  • Works with departments as organizational changes occur to understand how the changes affect existing business processes, continuity strategies and plans
  • Serves as the system administrator and primary point of contact for the Business Continuity and ERM Governance Risk and Compliance (BC-GRC) software tool built on the Fusion Framework system. Serves as a liaison with departments who are leveraging the data and capabilities of the system. Researches all potential improvements and updates to the system, and makes recommendations on additional items that could benefit EMC
  • Leverages BIA, continuity, and risk information to develop recovery/mitigation strategies to ensure requirements meet or exceed continuity and risk management program guideline standards and/or regulatory requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, insurance, risk management, emergency management, or related field, or equivalent related experience
  • Seven years of experience in continuity management, emergency management, risk management, or other continuity/risk related field, including at least five years in business continuity
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or relevant certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of continuity management practices and governance frameworks, methodologies, and emerging practices
  • Excellent understanding of disaster recovery management and business impact analysis
  • Strong understanding of information technology systems and business processes with the ability to translate between the business and technology sides of the company
  • Good knowledge of risk management frameworks, preferably Fusion Framework
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of property and casualty risks preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Good presentation and human relations skills
