Tool Inventory Control Specialist

SUMMARY

The Tool Inventory Specialist position at Contra Costa Electric, Inc., reports directly to the Tool Manager, located in Martinez, CA. The Tool Inventory Specialist is responsible for management and tracking of all tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle all aspects of inventory movement of materials and tools, including stocking, re-stocking, and accounting for every item in the tool room
  • Compile and maintain records of the quantity, type, and value of the inventory on hand
  • Participates in monthly and year-end inventory cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation issues
  • Coordinates inventory requirements and procurement details with the Division’s General Manager
  • Track the transportation and distribution of tool and material inventory
  • Oversees the records of all stocks and compiles evaluation reports. Daily auditing of inventory is also a task for the inventory specialist
  • Coordinating inventory requirements and procurement details with vendors and customers.
  • Participates in the inventory cycle counting
  • Accounting and Reporting of inventory surplus, product/tool returns, variances, and any damages.
  • Maintaining and overseeing the records of all stocks and compiling reports as needed
  • Conducting audits of inventory
  • Ensures all employees and visitors entering warehouse are wearing the proper safety equipment and security badges at all times
  • Works in conjunction with all staff to ensure readiness for any inspection or audit
  • Other projects as assigned

  • Able to work 40 hours per week in Martinez, CA with some travel to job sites as needed.

This position requires the flexibility to work with other departments of the Company in the Fresno office, as well as working directly with project field staff and/or on project work sites as needed. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in maintaining inventory, warehousing, and/or distribution environment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of Prolog Manager or similar project document control software a plus.
  • Business writing and reporting skills
  • Excellent organization, communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Scheduling and time management skills
  • Strategic, analytical, and multi-tasking skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.

The physical demands of this position are those associated with working in a typical office environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, see, talk, and hear. This role requires communicating verbally and in writing one on one, in small groups, as well as presenting to larger groups of employees.  This role requires the ability to work at a computer (reading and keying) for extended periods of time. The employee must move within the office to retrieve files and meet with employees in their offices or conference room. The employee is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally required to travel by car (as a passenger or driver) to Job Sites, or to attend Commercial events/training, and must have the ability to navigate around job sites.
