Job Title: Shift Engineer
Job Summary:
The primary duty of this engineer position is monitoring several properties via a BMS and several other monitoring systems from an office location. The engineer must also take corrective action on all BMS generated alarms and report any outstanding issues within a timely manner to the Chief Engineer.
Every shift the on-duty engineer is expected to complete a shift log, conduct multiple site reviews, proactively email and phone call property managers and contractors as issues arise, and remotely assist with onsite troubleshooting as needed by contractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Remotely monitor several properties via an ALC BMS and several other monitoring systems from an office location.
- Assist contractors perform preventative maintenance per OEM recommendations and customer requirements.
- Reach out to property managers and contractors as needed for issues in relation to temperature, humidity, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and leak detection.
- Communicate with the Chief Engineer to ensure all issues and repairs are properly documented and communicated to the appropriate parties.
- Complete a shift log and multiple site reviews per shift for multiple properties.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs proficiently.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and equipment information sheets.
- Must be able to troubleshoot basic electrical control circuits.
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years education and experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- HVAC Knowledge
- Electrical Knowledge
- Moderate Computer Skills
- Chiller and Cooling Tower Knowledge
- Knowledge of Generators, PDU’s, UPS and Battery systems

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to Lift 10 – 50 pounds, short time/distance lift. Stand 2 to 3 hours at a time.
