What is it all about?
Illingworth-Kilgust’s CAD Technician prepares detailed drawings of engineering and mechanical designs according to specifications provided.
Some of the activities for this position are listed below:
- Work directly with design engineers to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings, and electronic images.
- Participate with the engineering team in design layout and concept.
- Prepare accurate technical drawings for use in construction installation. Typical bodies of work include cut sheets, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, foundation drawings, and elevation drawings.
- Create technical documents for construction and installation including bill of materials and installation steps.
- Assist engineering team with solving problems including design, assembly, and operation problems.
- Create 2D design documents in AutoCad and 3D design documents in Revit MEP.
- Project setup/maintenance for BIM/design/estimating.
- Update contract drawings.
- Update PDF contract documents onto network to appropriate projects and/or proposals.
- KIP scanner/printer usage.
- Navis work model coordination.
- May perform field activities as required.
What you bring
- Knowledge of steam fitting and/or plumbing field experience.
- Ability to understand and apply the principles of mechanical engineering.
- Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, and MS Office a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly trustworthy on handling proprietary information.
- Excellent computer, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required.
