SUMMARY
The Security Specialist is responsible for overseeing security install on contract projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee security install on contract projects;
- Manage techs onsite making sure they have proper instruction and necessary material;
- Ensure techs onsite are installing properly according to drawings or specifications;
- Maintain, service and/or install systems and components, verifying system performance, maintaining records;
- Prepare for installations by reviewing installation documentation, gathering equipment, supplies, and tools;
- Participate in after-hours On-Call customer service rotation;
- Verifies system functioning by testing equipment, connections, and signals while identifying and correcting problems;
- Maintain customer relations by resolving concerns and answering questions;
- Maintain safe and secure work environment by following safe practices;
- Read blueprints, building and electrical plans in order to complete equipment repairs;
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications;
- Test/commission system;
- Manage closeout documentation;
- Maintain relationship with customer on a service level;
- Field Service requests/assignments for security from service manager;
- Manage lookahead and communicate with Service Manager and Superintendent to facilitate labor needs on small projects and contract jobs;
- Complete timesheets, Daily Foreman Logs, 2 week look ahead documents, and safety documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years of field experience performing security installations;
- Experienced Security Technician with strong commercial building experience Install, service & maintain Intrusion, Access Control, CCTV & Video Surveillance systems to include running and pulling cable; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards;
- Experience reading blueprints, building and electrical plans in order to complete equipment repairs
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally or in writing in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
