Emerald Home Furnishings is seeking a Distribution Manager who can effectively manage the day-to-day operations of our warehouse facility. The candidate should have (1) or more year in distribution management experience and should have strong motivation. The candidate must be an exceptional leader of people, able to embrace change with a sharp eye for continuous improvement. You will hire, train, coach, evaluate and reward team members and ensure their safety and security in a dynamic, fast-paced, operation. Safety is the Priority!

The Distribution Manager will ensure that customers experience excellent service with an on-time delivery performance at or above industry standard. The Distribution Manager will make the experience for our customers simple, easy and efficient. Quality is the Standard!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all facility employees.
  • Motivates and coaches’ team with quality and continuous improvement as a priority.
  • Manages all warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Plan, execute and manage the picking, staging and transportation of all orders to customers with a focus on speed to delivery.
  • Focus on providing customers with a simple, easy shipping experience meeting or exceeding on-time delivery goals.
  • Works closely with Tacoma HR department to staff, recruit, hire, and train new warehouse employees.
  • Manages discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that timely and constructive.
  • Processes payroll time sheets.
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security.
  • Maintains documents and keeps accurate records of warehouse activities.
  • Creates schedules, assigns employees, and sets expectations, goals and KPI’s.
  • Ensures effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.
  • Store inventory with the most effective use of space and design for efficient picking, staging and shipping. Inventory accuracy to be above 99%.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with all other departments via SharePoint, phone, email, reports, etc. concerning details of orders, shipments, logistics, inventory status, etc.
  • Manage, all equipment, supplies and necessary accessories to run the facility.
  • Ensures safety and security of all employees and complies with federal and state OSHA guidelines and best practices.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Ensures company equipment is maintained and functioning safely/properly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 1 years’ experience in a warehouse leadership role managing hourly employees.
  • Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of company staff.
  • Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Organized and detailed.
  • A reputation of integrity (honest and ethical).

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to continuously stand, walk, lift, carry, bend knees, bend torso, bend back, use hand functions (close, grasp, pinch, and fine manipulation). The employee is occasionally required to drive, push, pull, squat, stoop, and reach (overhead and below). The employee is occasionally required to sit, crawl, climb stairs and ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to work in an uncontrolled temperature environment – extreme hot/cold temperatures in the warehouse and freight containers. Noise levels are very high. Regular exposure to: dust, gases, and fumes (propane and battery fumes).

Appropriate tools are provided to perform the essential functions of the job: ear plugs, gloves, fall restraint harnesses, apron, eye protection

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
