Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble decommissioned power distribution units. Some basic tools must be furnished by the associate.
- Pumping oil out of units
- Salvage metals and useable parts from decommissioned power distribution units.
- Proper handling and disposal of oils, solvents and other liquid compounds.
- Move units down conveyor track from inprocessing to decommission building.
- Ability to use hand and pneumatic tools.
- Operate forklift, overhead crane and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Responsible for all shop equipment and tools in his/her work area.
- Must be willing to work overtime and call-in hours as required.
- Work requires close interaction with other associates. Must be able to function in a team-oriented environment.
- Maintain a safe and orderly work area.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The ideal candidate will embody the following characteristics and possess the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below:
- Honest, trustworthy and reliable.
- Hardworking.
- Physical ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50lbs force frequently.
- Comfortable working in extreme heat and cold.
- Ability to use basic hand tools, gauges and test equipment.
- Must be self-directed and able to satisfactorily complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner with minimal supervision.
- Valid US driver’s license preferred.
