This position is Full Time
Monday - Friday
This position requires an organized, detail-oriented individual with knowledge of prevention and treatment of wounds and the leadership qualities to supervise wound care.
The ideal candidate will be professional, dependable and self-motivated.
Customary Duties
- Responsible for management of preventative wound program and wound treatment programs
- Ensures accuracy in documentation and information provided to physicians, residents and their responsible parties
- Complete the weekly wound analysis report.
- Provides patient, family and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections and other therapies.
- Is a resource person for physicians wound team and clinical staff.
- Conduct wound rounds weekly and provide report to the Director of Nursing

Requirements
- Registered Nursing in New York – 3-5 years’ experience
- Wound Certification is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 1-year experience in Wound Care at a SNF
- Basic knowledge regarding the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, arterial, venous and diabetic wounds as well as other wounds such as surgical wounds
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Flexible and dependable
- Able to work independently & efficiently
- ·Familiar with Electronic Medical Records (Sigma Care)
- Additionally is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
- Participates in the performance improvement plan of the organization.
