Emerge, a global talent solutions company, is actively recruiting candidates for a direct hire Operations Manager position in La Porte, IN for our client, a growing aerospace manufacturer of highly technical cast and manufactured products. As the Operations Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in translating business strategy into actions driving business results at the manufacturing plant. The Operations Manager provides leadership to the shop floor and front-line supervisory teams, including planning, communication meetings, managing and accessing staff, and prioritizing and making work assignments. Your primary objective will be to lead the manufacturing organization to safely deliver or exceed the financial plan, using your experience in team building, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing. We're seeking an individual with a proven ability to motivate and lead teams toward achieving the goals of manufacturing excellence. Our client offers a very competitive salary of $135,000-$175,000 based on experience, bonus plan, career growth, and a comprehensive benefits package. A full relocation package is available for this position.

Responsibilities for the Operations Manager position in La Porte, IN include:
- Lead and support shop floor teams, handling staffing, career development, and scheduling.
- Motivate and train production staff for optimal quality, productivity, and morale.
- Develop capacity plans and manage resources to meet manufacturing schedules.
- Integrate production planning with forecasts and budgets.
- Ensure implementation of ABS, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on cleanliness and safety.
- Lead the production team using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Communicate technical issues affecting customer delivery and quality.
- Assess manpower needs and design employee skills development.
- Provide leadership to direct reports in production.
- Implement strategies for efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Manage monthly budgets, including expenditures, labor, and other relevant categories.
- Optimize and manage production efficiency and quality standards.
- Analyze and implement process flow improvements.
- Direct preparation of operational budgets, long-range plans, and coordinate capital plans.
- Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and hold project status meetings.
- Collaborate with quality assurance to address product or system deficiencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, management, etc., is required.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Plant Operations and Manufacturing with positions that show progressive career growth to leadership positions.
- Experience in Aerospace Industry manufacturing is required.
- Strong leadership skills focused on innovation and team building, creating a culture of teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and safety.
- Minimum of three (3) years of Leadership experience in a Continuous Improvement, Lean manufacturing facility.
- Six Sigma Certification is strongly desired.
- Experience leading teams of 200-600 people in highly skilled production positions with complex manufacturing processes.
