RN Clinical Supervisor - RightCare Clinic

Job Purpose
The RightCare Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Supervisor is responsible for delivering direct care to patients in an interdisciplinary outpatient office setting and for the coordination of clinical staff and office personnel to deliver high quality care and to optimize patient flow in the RightCare Clinic.
Under general direction, the Right Care Clinic RN Supervisor will maintain 24-hour accountability for direct leadership and management of the practice. The RN Supervisor will provide on-site direct oversight, and problem-solving to staff. The RN Supervisor will assist the RightCare clinical leadership team with short-range operational planning and day-to-day execution of practice clinical and quality goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
        Direct Patient Care
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and nursing professional practice in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team and in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Obtains and analyzes assessment data to identify issues and communicates findings with the physician or Advanced Practice Provider as appropriate.
  • Assesses patient needs, evaluates patient responses to treatments provided and applies prudent nursing judgment in patient management decisions.
  • Provides direct, continuous care for patients through application of the nursing process as described by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the State of Michigan.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes patient care activities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning.
  • Directs/delegates patient care activities appropriately to other members of the health care team.
  • Assures clinical documentation is complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Utilizes effective verbal, electronic and written communication to disseminate pertinent information to the patient, family and clinical team.
  • Coordinates disposition planning, including discharge, transfer and referrals to support effective patient transitions. Utilizes effective teaching methods to support patient education.
  • Actively engages in ongoing professional development to ensure competence related to nursing practice.
        Clinic Manager Duties
  • Provides oversight for non-physician clinical and office staff in the RightCare Clinic. Handles day-to-day clinical operations in the practice and utilizes critical thinking skills to resolve issues. Duties include facilitating scheduling, staff training, disciplinary conversations, job performance reviews and overseeing staff time sheets.
  • Oversees processes to ensure unit equipment, reusable supplies and pharmaceutical inventory supports daily clinic operations.
  • Develops the practice schedule and mitigates schedule vacancies in a timely manner.
  • Escalates regulatory or process issues to the Medical Director and senior leadership for resolution and support.
  • Assures all practice staff are compliant with the policies/procedures of RightCare Clinic and ensures adherence to any applicable regulatory policies such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, Clinical laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations, and other corporate compliance policies or procedures.
  • Plans, develops and implements orientation and education schedules for the RightCare Clinic team members.
  • Collaborates with the RightCare Clinic Medical Director to develop a positive culture and effective clinical team.
  • Participates in clinic leadership meetings as directed to facilitate optimal clinic operational and quality outcomes.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Customer service skills and patient satisfaction
  • Clinical scheduling
  • Training, management, and development of staff
  • Clinic operation management including OSHA Guidelines and CLIA Regulations
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • 5 years direct clinical experience in an acute care setting (Emergency Department strongly preferred)
  • 2 years of demonstrated informal or formal operational or leadership experience (e.g. Emergency Department Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, Nurse Manager, Practice Manager)
Required Certification and Licensure
  • ACLS - Basic Life Support Required Equivalent Experience - Within 2 months of hire
  • PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support-Within 2 months of hire
  •  RN - Registered Nurse License in the State of Michigan Required
  • Board Certification in Emergency Nursing preferred
