The Product Manager is responsible to drive innovation and strategic direction for their product lines. The Product Manager works cross-functionally to develop the new product plan and identify and drive improvements to the existing product portfolio. This role leads, facilitates, or otherwise participates in day-to-day activities of their product portfolio, including but not limited to customer visits, pricing, forecasting, sales training, category management, and sourcing and operational decisions. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying new product opportunities and working cross functionally to develop the products and bring them to market. This position reports to the Director of Marketing

AS A PRODUCT MANAGER, YOU WILL: 

Manage the entire product lifecycle of products in the applicable categories, from new product introduction to product line rationalization. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Conduct extensive research to understand and anticipate our customers' needs. Lead development projects to meet those needs. 
  • Assess competitive position of the product portfolio against competition and to develop future growth opportunities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market trends, technologies, competitors, customer base, market size, channels of distribution, industry trade associations and required product certifications.
  • Develop long term product line strategies and a corresponding new product pipeline that is consistent with the vision and strategic intent of Emerson Pro Tools.
  • In cooperation with Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, and Sales/Marketing, manage new product development programs and launch new products
  • Establish and supervise market pricing of assigned products. Drive strategic pricing decisions to grow margins while gaining share.
  • Actively support the Sales function, including product training, developing competitive product information, creating the value propositions, and working with end user customers.
  • Attend trade shows and market and customer facing events
  • Conduct product line profitability analysis and implement vital improvement initiatives.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • 3 years of experience of professional product management, marketing, engineering or sales experience, or equivalent experience that demonstrates the requirements of the job.
  • Involvement in new product development projects and project management methodologies in a manufactured product environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field required.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Experience within the mechanical, electrical, or plumbing markets.
  • MBA
