Emerson has a newly opened position for you if you are a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining Technician looking to advance your career! A Scroll Machining Technician is needed at our Sidney, Ohio site. This person will be in charge of operating and doing simple troubleshooting on automation and CNC machinery in order to fulfill production, quality, cost, and safety objectives. As required, you will provide assistance to all manufacturing and maintenance groups. Additionally, you will take charge of the area's 5S initiatives and line dependability as well as manage and train hourly staff.
YOU WILL:
- Be accountable for safety, quality, cost, and production goals, while running the line.
- Be responsible for the start-up and operation of CNC equipment, automation equipment, and gaging equipment.
- Review gage traces, analyze, and make needed offsets in machines.
- Change inserts, drills, and endmills.
- Conduct PM's on tool work-holding, and change when needed.
- Perform model changes.
- Conduct initial troubleshooting of production issues and repair, if capable.
- Maintain uninterrupted product flow through the line.
- Take direction from and collaborate with leadership to mitigate downtime.
- Actively participate in GEMBA walks (whiteboards).
- Actively engage and participate in 5S and Kaizen events and help identify improvement opportunities.
- Direct hourly employees working within the area.
- Perform machine coordination and gage operator duties, as needed.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Associate or Technical Degree, and (1) year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be open to working all shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
- Knowledge of basic machining practices.
- Basic understanding of gaging practices.
- Strong analytical and technical skills.
- Ability to perform machine coordination and gage operator duties.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and hourly workforce.
- Ability to flex work schedule based on needs of operation.
- Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
PREFERRED:
- CNC machining experience in a production environment.
- Automation experience with robotics in production environment.
You should be proficient in:
- G-Code
- M-Code
- Manual Machining Skills
- High School / GED
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Shop Math Skills
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
Salary info:
$19 - $31 / hr
