Based in our Stafford, TX, you will lead strategic procurement cost reduction and supply chain development initiatives providing commodity expertise, product knowledge and organization skills necessary to identify and facilitate timely and effective project implementations. AS A REGIONAL CATEGORY MANAGER, YOU WILL: - Locate, develop, and manage suppliers to support the North America facility with production and other requirements. - Evaluate supplier’s quality, on time deliver, financial stability and the ability to support the production requirements. Manage the regional and global supplier negotiations. - Maintain link between suppliers, quality, engineering and other global procurement groups to improve the supplier’s performance, cost reductions and implementation of new projects and products. - Coordinate the supply chain programs with quality areas, engineering, operations and strategic procurement specialists in the facility. WHO YOU ARE: - You analyze multiple and diverse sources of information to define problems accurately before moving to solutions. - You tackle difficult issues with optimism and confidence. - You look for obstacles and develop excellent contingency plans. - You develop others through coaching, feedback, exposure and stretch assignments.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: - 10+ years of proven leadership in supply chain/procurement experience in a global manufacturing company. - Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system experience - Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering related field. - Ability to develop regional, best cost sources of supply and services. - Ability to interface with suppliers, Senior Management, and peers from all world areas. - Expertise in the following commodities: Bar Material, Hardware, springs, rubber, and plastics components. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: - Professional certifications strongly desired [Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), and Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)]. - MBA preferred - E-Sourcing experience WHY EMERSON?
