Job Summary
Reporting to Physician(s) and to the Practice Manager, the Cardiovascular Tech performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Cardiographic testing on patients.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma required.
Experience: One to Two years of relevant work experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist or EKG Technician in a medical/physician’s office highly preferred. Previous experience with holter applications highly preferred. Experience as a Certified exercise Specialist (CES) helpful.
Licensure and/or Certification: Certified Exercise Specialist (CES) preferred.
Skills
Strong communication skills.
Computer skills with the GE Centricity electronic medical record (EMR), Meditech
Must be well versed in medical terminology
Maintains a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular and thoracic anatomy, cardiovascular pathophysiology, hemodymanics and embryology, in order to recognize normal and abnormal cardiovascular structure, function and abnormalities of blood flow.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of ultrasound physics, instrumentation, tissue characteristics, and measurements of blood flow.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Computer Skills Required.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
