What are the responsibilities and job description for the eCommerce Systems Architect position at Emerson?
If you are a system architect and eCommerce professional seeking an opportunity for growth, Emerson has an exciting position available. This role will be based in the US time zone and can be located at any of our offices in the US, Manila, or Costa Rica. As a member of one of our cross-functional agile teams, you will be responsible for the eCommerce system architecture. Our eCommerce platform is built on HCL Commerce and Core Media, utilizing Spring Boot and Java-based microservices with APIs connecting to various complex ERP systems. Our current focus is on modernizing the ecosystem and improving the customer experience. You will join a diverse community and work collaboratively with your team to achieve these goals.
WHO YOU ARE:
Technical Expertise: System Architects must have strong technical knowledge and experience in the specific technologies, programming languages, and platforms required for the development of the system. This includes an understanding of hardware and software components and security protocols.
Collaboration: System Architects must be able to work effectively with other members of the development team, as well as stakeholders from different departments within the organization. This includes effective communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to build consensus and drive the development process forward.
Innovation: System Architects should be innovative and forward-thinking, able to identify opportunities to improve the system architecture and drive innovation within the organization. They should be able to think creatively, experiment with new ideas, and take calculated risks to stay ahead of the competition and deliver value to the organization.
Help the scrum teams continuously improve its environment and processes.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related engineering degree AND 8 or more years of Full stack development experience OR a master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering degree AND 5 or more years of full stack development experience
- At least 5 years of experience in software system design and development.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and design patterns.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C , Python, etc.).
- Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, etc.).
- Experience with SAFe/Agile development methodologies.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to system architecture and design.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Experience with migration of legacy apps to Cloud Native apps
- Experience with Cloud Native Application Tech stacks
- Experience with data modeling and database design
- Experience with HCLC, MuleSoft, Azure APIM
Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the salary range for this role is $98,000 - $126,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
