What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Emerson?

If you are an experienced Human Resources Generalist looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Manufacturer of large custom-designed control valves, you will work in a dynamic and high-tech production facility based in our Marshalltown, Iowa location.

AS A HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST YOU WILL:

  • Maintain business system for all new salaried and bargaining unit employees: hires, retirements, terminations, transfers, etc., with pay and job changes including personal information.
  • Work closely with Benefit Administration and HRIS teams regarding payroll, benefit, and business system needs.
  • Administer LOA programs such as FMLA and Short and Long Term Disability programs.
  • Partner with Managers to understand business and recruitment needs and seek opportunities to offer innovative solutions. Participate in and support the interview process.
  • Generate and maintain HR metric reports.
  • Lead compliance and talent development trainings.
  • Coordinate and develop plant communications.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • BA/BS degree or 4 – 5 years of human resource experience
  • Basic knowledge of HRIS system
  • Knowledge of core HR processes
  • Ability to properly balance employee advocacy and business requirements
  • Ability to drive projects while managing day-to-day activities
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this position

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA and Short and Long Term Disability programs
  • Experience in recruiting, sourcing, and staffing
  • Training experience preferred
