What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Information Technology position at Emery Unified School District?
Under the general direction of the Superintendent, assumes primary management responsibilities for all district technology, data, enrollment, and attendance services. Ensures the maintenance of all technology equipment, including but not limited to; telephone network, data network, computer systems, security systems, and Internet communications. This also includes management of the technology staff. Oversees the processes of attendance and enrollment including but not limited to; the management of the data systems, persons, procedures, and policies. The fundamental objective of this position is to ensure that the district maintains effective communication systems, data systems, enrollment processes, and attendance reporting processes, and that all district reporting is completed accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring that all local, County, State and Federal reporting and timelines are met. For this position, the District requires a person with technical expertise, curricular awareness, and the data accounting skills required to manage each area of operations. The position will require technical writing skills for system documentation, standard operations procedures, Board policies, grants and other public documents. This position will require the person to attend meetings, both daytime and evening, as well as to serve on district committees and represent the district on County Committees related to the jobs responsibilities.

Placement on the Management Salary Schedule based upon education and experience. In addition to salary, an annual contribution of $14,316 to $31,032 is made toward medical benefits.

Requirements / Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree AND five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a similar-sized organization in the field of computers and technology management.
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science or a related field emphasizing microcomputers and networking applications and systems preferred.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a computer network and/or systems analysis environment, including a minimum of two (2) years experience with troubleshooting, installation, and configuring LANs and WANs.
- Experience working with educational databases including student data management systems is preferred.
- Must have a valid California Driver License with no restrictions on ability to drive.
