Job Summary
This position will be part of our leadership team starting up our new facility in Stoughton, WI
The Production Supervisor will oversee packaging operations in a food processing environment. This position is responsible for production yield, product quality, food safety, staffing, labor efficiency, resource (raw material) efficiency, and employee safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversees all production and sanitation activities during assigned shift
- Ensures operational adherence to the production planning schedule
- Monitors and tracks departmental KPI’s and takes appropriate action to achieve production goals.
- Executes corrective action to address production downtime.
- Responsible for employee performance management and development
- Creates the employee labor schedule and adheres to established labor utilization rates.
- Manages and approves employee timecards
- Provides facilitywide leadership support as needed.
- Leads Continuous Improvement initiatives for assigned areas
- Partners with the maintenance team to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Leads shift meetings
- Ensures that employees work safely and that any unsafe work conditions are corrected immediately to prevent workplace injuries.
- Leads and promotes programs to support a proactive safety culture
- Ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other food safety guidelines
- Adheres to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)
- Coaches, motivates, and engages employees in all aspects of operations to support the Emmi culture
- Resolves employee relations issues
- Mentors and develops leadership talent within the organziation
Qualifications / Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferred
- Previous leadership experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience of developing leaders strongly preferred
- Food manufacturing experience preferred
- Proven leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communcation skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of leaders or employees
- Ability to read and interpret documents, manuals and instructions
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented nature and ability to adapt to change
- Ability to calculate using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Proficient with ERP systems, MicroSoft Office, JD Edwards
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Valid driver’s license and proof of minimum liability insurance coverage
