Our brand new ColdJet PR750H Dry Ice production machine can operate 24/7 and has multiple, reliable sources of CO2. Reporting Structure

The Assistant Plant Manager reports to the Plant Manager.

What does an Assistant Plant Manager do at Emory?

  •  Recruit, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel and discipline employees
  •  Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions
  •  Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews
  •  Prepare and complete action plans
  •  Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes
  •  Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
  •  Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing projects on or under budget
  •  Meet or exceed operations labor budget expectations
  •  Manage staff levels, wages, hours to revenues
  •  Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace
  •  Responsible for all aspects of vehicle and heavy equipment rentals
  •  Manage relationships with key operations vendors
  •  Track vendor pricing, rebates and service levels
  •  Maintain production equipment in safe, optimal operating condition to help ensure the protection of all plant employees and visitors.
  •  Conduct continuous monitoring of production and process equipment for proper operation.
  •  Perform preventive maintenance and repair of production equipment from blueprints, technical manuals, or vendor specifications.
  •  Recognize and perform machine adjustments to the various manufacturing machine systems
  •  Determining corrective actions based on operational and trouble messages provided by Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) Display Monitors or other similar display panels.
  •  Assisting with installation, testing, and validation of new production equipment.
  •  Understands, follows, and maintains proper records for Process Safety Management procedures and requirements.
  •  Conduct continuous monitoring of process and production equipment for proper operation.
  •  Participate in and oversee equipment changeovers as necessary.
  •  Notify management of any potential equipment issues or other noted abnormalities.
  •  Assist management in training manufacturing employees in the proper use of equipment.
  •  Maintain organization of the Maintenance Repair Area and any other area where repair work is in progress.
  •  Assist coworkers with production and other tasks as requested.
  •  On-Call 24/7 with minimal notice needing quick response times.
  •  Work closely with VP, OPS and GM management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures and systems and to follow through with implementation
  •  Additional duties as needed.

  •  Must have working knowledge a forklift, and safe forklift operation
  •  Must have a clean DMV for operating a company vehicle
  •  Physical requirements -must be able to push-pull up to 100 lbs, stand for extended period of times, work in variable climate conditions
  •  The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a supervisor to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

FLSA Class - Exempt - Salary

Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience

  • 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing or mechanic work, specifically dry ice -preferred
  •  3 years of experience in a leadership role
  •  Associates degree (preferred)
  •  Ability to work well in a team
  •  Must be able to receive OSHA 10/30/HASC certifications
  •  Ability to obtain TWIC Card
  •  Ability to pass a federal and state criminal background check
