The Office of Well-Being, Woodruff Health Sciences Center is a central resource and the first of its kind for the entire Woodruff Health Sciences Center, which includes Emory Healthcare. The focus will be to lead the design, direction and implementation of well-being programs that address the current environmental stressors among clinicians, health professionals, faculty and staff in clinical, research and academic health sciences areas. The goals of the office include facilitating systemwide changes that enable team members to effectively practice in a culture that prioritizes and promotes wellness and professional fulfillment while optimizing the function of Emory’s health system and establishing a robust well-being research foundation.
The Director Projects, Office of Well-Being is a demonstrated leader in program management to advance the best interests of the Office of Well-Being, Emory Healthcare and the Woodruff Health Sciences Center.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Directs special projects for a non-central division or department. Manages the strategic planning process and oversees progress toward achieving project goals.
- Develops and administers project budgets.
- Participates in the identification of funding sources, initiatives and strategies.
- Prepares communication documents for articles, reports, and/or presentations.
- Develops short and long term project goals and objectives. Represents and promotes projects at speaking engagements and with various constituencies.
- Conducts research, analyzes data and identifies and summarizes trends. Develops and prepares reports.
- Serves as a liaison with other university departments and represents projects at meetings and events.
- May hire, supervise and evaluate staff. Performs related responsibilities as required.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Coordinates a series of programs and related activities including establishing long-term objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program(s), developing promotional materials/venues, managing related databases, and establishing/forecasting/tracking budget requirements.
Programs and related activities will focus on staff well-being for Emory Healthcare (EHC) staff as well as Emory University (EUV) staff associated with the Woodruff Health Sciences Center (WHSC) programs, which include Emory’s School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Public Health, Yerkes Primate Research Center and Winship Cancer Institute.
Collaborates with Co-Chief Well-Being Officers including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, coordinating meeting needs, and supporting communication among WHSC and EHC staff.
Maintains close relationships with EHC and WHSC well-being leaders (both formal and informal) with an ongoing understanding of the well-being needs of teams across the Emory enterprise.

Maintains an understanding of the vision, objectives, and priorities of the Well-Being Office, while communicating those aspects clearly with colleagues.
Manages Well-Being Office budget, including grants and other awards.
Provides timely reports to Co-Chief Well-Being Officers, Emory leaders, and granting organizations as required by agency/office regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree.
- Five years of project management or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Proficiency with various computer software packages.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are required as well as experience working with executive leadership.
- Experience in an academic medical center setting with matrixed reporting relationships preferred. Institutional knowledge of Emory preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills are required.
- Attention to detail and strong computer software skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) are necessary to develop and present information.
- Position demands exceptional integrity, intelligence, maturity, and successful experience navigating complex organizational settings.
- Individual must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, make sound judgments, handle confidential information and be a creative, energetic problem solver with an understanding of the diversity of the internal and external audience.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work.
