The School of Nursing recently expanded its footprint with the Emory Nursing Learning Center, a 70,000-square-feet renovation in Decatur, Ga. The $20.6 million expansion boasts a state-of-the-art simulation and skills lab, which will provide experiential and immersive learning for students, and the Emory Nursing Experience, a program for continuing professional education in partnership with Emory Healthcare nursing.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The Special Assistant/Project Manager for the Emory Nursing Learning Center will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of internal, external, and post-licensure intensive activities at the Emory Nursing Learning.
- Reporting to the Associate Dean for Clinical Practice Operations and the Executive Director of the ENLC, this role collaborates with senior divisional leadership to manage and execute special projects and to provide business support related to external relations; budget and finance; human resources; and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management based event planning for all internal and external events.
- Drafts key marketing communications such as flyers, articles, presentations, reports, and policies.
- Negotiates and executes room rental agreements, payments, and logistics coordination for events.
- Creates event run of show plans and coordinates implementation of event activities.
- Researches strategic intent of, develops agendas for, and prepares materials or presentations for meetings and event planning project management
- Conducts complex projects requiring comprehensive research and data analysis.
- Collaborates with others to facilitate event projects and ensure timelines and action plans are accomplished.
- Provides leadership to project team members and ensures integration of relevant business processes.
- Prepares and assists in budget analyses -specifically event related budgets.
- Participates in long-range financial planning, trending, and budgeting for ENLC.
- Ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial information and reporting.
- Analyzes data and reports, identifies, and summarizes trends, develops executive summaries.
- Represents divisional executive leadership at meetings.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in business administration or other related field.
- Five years of experience with an emphasis on project management and finance/budget analysis.
- Expertise in use of office technology, including the MicroSoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint); Internet; and e-mail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Event management experience within higher education or corporate setting.
NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
