Server/Cashier

At Empanadas Cafe we pride ourselves of years serving customers a variety of delicious empanadas. For years, we have developed an easy system of Order/Pick-Up to satisfy our customers' cravings, but we always need a friendly face to greet them when things get busy, and they always get busy!

We are looking for someone with the following virtues and skills:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish to take orders in person and via phone.
• Time availability. We are flexible with shifts but it is important that you work on the weekends.

• Able to listen attentively and recall orders.
• Punctuality and responsibility. Every minute counts and we need someone compromised with the schedule.
• Organized and focused. We run at a quick pace and focus is key.
• We do have systems but we encourage you to use your wit to make customer experience quick, lively and efficient
• Team player. Our staff is a team by all definitions. You will have our support, we expect to have yours too.
• Quick feet, quick hands for serving tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, take orders in person or via phone and direct them to our staff in the kitchen.
• Take both cash and card payments at the cashier.
• Hand the customer their empanadas with items such as: napkins, our homemade sauces, customer drinks and any extras.
• Educate the customer on wait times and keep track to provide orders as quickly as possible.
• Serve fresh hot drinks such as coffees, teas, hot chocolates.
• Take and schedule our Party Platter orders for events and confirm payments and customer information.
• Light cleaning of the work area.
• Be attentive, be available and be ready. We provide quick service.
• Coordinate with team members to keep drinks and stock ready.

Education and Experience:
No requirements except your time and motivation to learn! We provide paid training and will be with you along the way. Please apply only if you are bilingual in English and Spanish.

Pay: $15.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
All of our orders are curbside pickup. No customer walks in the cafe and we take orders through mics set up on the windows.
