POSITION SUMMARY
TRC is seeking an Principal Engineer / Office Practice Leader to manage our Geo/Environmental Engineering practice in TRC's Mountain View, California office.
The position requires a strong technical, financial, business development and management background, and a solid reputation of building and maintaining key client relationships. This full-time position reports to the Vice President of Geo-Environmental Engineering. TRC's Mountain View office has a vibrant, dynamic, and fast-paced work environment that thrives on teamwork and provides access to a broad spectrum of professional experiences. The services are delivered for local geographic clients, as well as clients across the United States.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Are driven to lead project teams and staff and are responsible for ongoing growth, as well as leadership and operation of TRC's business by performing client outreach and by providing direction on major project pursuits and general marketing efforts in geotechnical engineering, construction services, solid waste management, remediation, and renewable energy development markets.
- Have a significant role in maintaining quality and profitability on TRC's projects, as well as assisting with managing and developing the skill sets of Project Managers and other employees and resources to ensure our projects are executed with a high level of efficiency and technical excellence.
- Understand and manage team resources and hire and develop new and existing talent.
- Possess strong and excellent verbal, written, presentation and client management skills; demonstrated ability leading and managing complex projects; as well as being goal oriented, quality focused, and have demonstrated success with creating and fostering a team environment.
- Maintain a current book of business along with a billable utilization target.
- Work to cross-sell TRC services and increase business from accounts under management.
