INSULATION INSTALLER
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is primarily responsible for the safe and quality installation of insulation in residential and commercial buildings, working both inside and outside buildings, in crawlspaces, attics and basements to insulate these areas in order to control heat loss or gain, and maintain temperature.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Load and unload insulation materials
· Complete prep work for installation, may include foaming penetrations, caulking gaps, installing baffles, etc.
· Cut sections of batt insulation to the proper fit, install in walls, ceilings and floors, as required
· Install mesh fabric (or netting)
· Load blower machine with fiberglass, cellulose; regulate flow of materials. Blow to appropriate depth/density
· Install vapor and air barriers as needed
· Use common hand tools such as knives, scissors, saws, and staple guns
· Properly maintain equipment and tools
· Follow safety guidelines and procedures
· Ensure clean job site
· Other duties as assigned
· Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, sealants, tape, or cement.
· Prepare surfaces for insulation application applying adhesives, or by attaching metal pins to surfaces
· Must understand the materials and what they’re used for
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be able to lift 25lbs.
· Valid Driver’s license
· Must be able to work overtime as required
· Must be able to work in safe environment
