Classification: Crushing Plant Operators

Reports to: Site Manager

Grade: Grade V

Education Req: High School Diploma required; Post High-School Technical/Vocational Degree, College Degree, or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience Req: Must have ability to follow MSHA regulations, industry safety programs, and possess excellent communications, people, and problem-solving skills. Must be willing to take and follow orders and directions. Must be adaptable and flexible to changing tasks, schedules, and situations. Must be able to perform physical labor, including lifting and carrying of heavy objects. 5 years of prior experience working in mining, crushing, or construction environment is desired. 1 – 2 years of prior supervisory experience preferred.

Nature and Scope:

With direction and supervision from the Operations General Manager, this hands-on individual will be responsible for performing and supervising employees in the operations, maintenance, and safety of crushing plant(s) and other machinery and equipment as needed including screens, conveyor belts, hoppers, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operation of Crushing Plant(s). Performing maintenance on all equipment including Jaw Crushers, Cone Crushers, VSI Crusher, Hammermills, Conveyor belts, Screens plants, light electrical, bag houses, etc. Individual will be familiar enough with plant and equipment maintenance to troubleshoot almost all maintenance situations and plant problems without guidance or direction.

Foreman will have day-to-day supervision of employees.

Operation and maintenance of production scale/scale software.

Digging out around crushing plant, and plant clean-up activities.

Assisting and attending to customers.

Accurate Record Keeping and reporting.

Safety meetings and safety responsibility for area.

Perform Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance.

Complete assigned work safely and efficiently both with and without direct supervision.

Complete any other tasks as needed or as directed by management.

Shift work and/or overtime may be required.

Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, understand and speak English.

Must be able to work well with others and adapt to a changing environment.

Must be able to demonstrate ability to operate all equipment on the crushing plant and fill in as needed in all these positions.

Offer ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement of the crushing facility operations.

Effective communication skills, as well as solid interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Repairs faulty equipment or systems.

Cuts and welds steel structural members.

Immediately reports all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to General Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
